Key Responsibilities:
Audit & Statutory Compliance
-Manage and support internal, statutory, and transfer pricing audits
-Coordinate with auditors and ensure timely closure of audit observations
-Ensure adherence to accounting standards, tax laws, and statutory requirements
Accounting Systems & Process Optimization
-Utilize enterprise accounting systems for shipping and financial accounting
-Drive process improvements, system optimization, and adoption of digital tools
-Ensure accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in accounting workflows
Shipping Agency Accounting
-Review and reconcile shipping agency transactions and Statements of Account (SOA)
-Ensure accurate accounting of shipping-related revenues, costs, and settlements
-Maintain strong controls over agency accounting and reconciliations
Remittance & Stakeholder Coordination
-Handle remittance-related queries and resolutions
-Coordinate with banks and internal stakeholders for timely closures
-Ensure clear communication and documentation
Financial Review & Controls
-Conduct periodic reviews of books of accounts
-Identify discrepancies, risks, or anomalies and initiate corrective actions
-Strengthen internal controls to ensure data integrity and compliance
Review of Financials & Agreements
-Vet financial statements, reports, and statutory filings
-Review agreements and contracts for financial and compliance accuracy
Team Leadership
-Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals
-Drive performance, accountability, and continuous process improvement
-Foster a collaborative and compliance-focused work culture
Required Qualifications & Experience
π Education : Postgraduate degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance
(M.Com / MBA β Finance preferred)
π§βπΌ Experience :8β10 years of progressive experience in Accounting & Finance
-Prior exposure to Shipping / Logistics / Maritime industries preferred
-Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and statutory compliance
-Experience with shipping agency accounting and international finance practices
